What a Real Witch Thinks of the Practical Magic Franchise
Use Left/Right to seek, Home/End to jump to start or end. Hold shift to jump forward or backward.
This week I chat Practical Magic, the books and the new movie. No Spoilers! But we begin by looking at Virgo season. Our house doesn’t have to be perfect to feel like a sanctuary. This week we lean hard into Virgo season energy: cleaning, clearing, organizing, and auditing what’s actually working in our lives. I share the real-life, not-aesthetic version of “ritualizing your life” from deep cleaning to freezer diving, and why caring for the mundane can be one of the most powerful forms of everyday witchcraft and self care.
Our tarot pull is The Star, a bright signal of healing, resilience, and guidance. I also pull a message from the Morbid Mirror Oracle, “We are one, we do not have nature, we are nature,” and talk about what that means for grounding, seasonal living, and the way our homes and bodies hold energy. Along the way, I share simple home energy cleansing tips you can do with grocery store items.

Then we shift into witchy culture of Practical Magic, from the books to why the movie matters as a women-led story that wasn’t treated kindly when it first came out. I talk about showing up for the stories that reflect us, and choosing not to tear women down for aging or appearance. If you’re craving a calm reset with a little magic, this one’s for you.

Welcome And Virgo Season Energy
SPEAKER_00Hello, witches, and welcome to another Cozy Coven Chats. I am your host, Jenny C. Bell, and this is for the week of September 13th. I'm laughing because it's like, what? Um, so we're still in Virgo season, which um hopefully you're feeling. I'm wondering how everybody's kind of Virgo new moon went. I suggested kind of doing some auditing, some cleaning and cleansing. And even people commented on a video I posted about that, about how yeah, they felt like that's energy. Like I personally have been deep cleaning the house, um, you know, looking for expired things, uh freezer diving, that's what I call it. Like finding things in the freezer and going, oh, wait a minute, I didn't know I had this. Like tonight I'm making a butternut squash sauce for a pasta because I found a bunch of butternut squash. So, you know, those kinds of things. Um, and that's the mundane, right? Because living the witch life, part of the magic to me is in the mundane, in the everyday stuff, right? Because if we look at every day as an opportunity to have a little magic, live a little more seasonally, tune in to the energy around us, suddenly like the magic is there every day. You know, I'm a big fan of ritualizing your life. I have a ritual for like everything. And I think most of us do, right? And so um this is that time. It's the time to, you're still we're still in Virgo season, we're still in that energy, so it's still time to clean, to cleanse, to organize, to audit. I'm actually I'm recording this before um before Sunday. And this weekend, uh, I am going over to a friend's house whose um partner just moved out, and she was like, Do you know how to cleanse the house? I was like, you know I do. Um, so we're gonna go and cleanse her house and bless it and make it hers again, make her space hers. So it's that kind of energy. It's boundaries, you know, totally. It's boundaries, boundaries, boundaries. It's organizing, it's cleansing, it's revisiting ritual. It's going, okay, let me look at these seeds I planted in the spring. And what am I harvesting? What do I want anymore? Like maybe I don't want some of the things. I don't want to harvest them. And you know,
Cleaning As Everyday Magic
SPEAKER_00starting to audit. I think that's the best word. So that's the energy we're in. Um, but let's talk about our cards. So I'm still pulling from the Happy Halloween tarot and the morbid miracle, and I actually got really excited because I pulled the star card, which is not what I pull very often. Okay. Um, but it's like the everything's great, everything's coming true, wishes coming true. Like the sun is the happy card. The star is like, yes, you are on it. Goodness coming your way. So immediately, I think this week's gonna be a good week for us. I do pull for the listeners of this podcast. So if you're a listener, even a first-time listener, this energy is for us, okay? It's not for the collective. I do not pull for the collective at large, it is only for the listeners. So this star in this deck is a pumpkin jack-o'-lantern star, jack-o'-lantern star in the sky, and like it's really happy and shining bright, and there's this cute little road leading to it, and it's like above a forest, and it's all oranges and yellows. And I told you the reason why I like this deck is because of the journal questions. So the journal questions are how can I provide a soothing and healing environment for myself? And I can't wait for you to hear what the morbid miracle card is, because you'll be like, What? So, how can I provide a soothing and healing environment for myself? Which we were just talking about, right? Cleansing and clearing energy, making your house nice. Yeah, you know, I'm just gonna get a little soapboxed. None of us live in like maybe quote a dream home. Maybe you do. If you do, good for you. But a lot of us are making do with what we have in the world we live in, in this late-stage capitalist patriarchy. And so it's about making our space as nice as we can for us. And so if that means, you know, cleaning, if that means putting, maybe picking up a can of paint or some wallpaper, or maybe it's touching up. I do a lot of touching up Virgo season, filling holes. My kids are kids, and so it's like scrubbing baseboards and washing doors and touching up cabinets and you know, where they've dinged the wall with their shoes. Um, that makes me feel good because it's like, okay, I'm preserving what I have, right? Um healing environment for yourself could be changing your bedding. Like, you know, when's the last time you really like washed all of your bedding and like throw pillows, everything, comforter. Maybe that's what you need. Maybe you want to make a little linen spray. I make one, I think I have the recipe in our coven, but it's mainly like vodka and water. I feel like I do a half to half, I can't remember. And I buy cheap vodka that I would never drink, but like high proof. And then I add some essential oils and I shake it up and I spray my pillows and I do that every day because I sleep with cats, and you know, cats are cats. Um, but yeah, maybe it's that. Maybe it's
The Star Card And Journal Prompts
SPEAKER_00buying one of those or making one of those uh shower bombs, or maybe it's just dropping a few essential oils into your shower every day. Maybe it's rearranging your crystals, maybe it's going out and collecting some things from the environment and putting them in a jar. It doesn't have to always be flowers, right? So think about your environment. How can you make where you live, you know, renting a room, owning a huge house, like wherever you are in life, living in an RV, you can make it nice, right? I moved a lot as a kid, we rented a lot, and first thing I did was like try to make the space nice, try to make it my own, try to make it homey, and that would make me feel better. Next question: When have I shown resilience in the face of hardship and adversity? Probably during this whole eclipse season, okay. Um, how can I strengthen my faith in my ability to move through chaos? Okay, so that's life. To me, life is chaos. Like we try to think we're in control, but we're not, right? So how can you strengthen your faith in yourself to just move through life? When was a time I felt guided with purpose? Do I believe I have a purpose in life? Because the star is like, you know, that whole when I wish upon a star and guiding star, north star when we talk about stars, right? It's like we chart our life. If you're into astrology, we're charting our life by the stars, like we really are guided. So what does that mean to you, right? But I take it as a really good sign. I think it's gonna be a positive week. And then listen to the card from the morbid miracle. We are morbid mirror. What an interesting slip of words. We are one, we do not have nature, we are nature. And this is four happy little skeletons, and they have roots coming out of their feet and twigs coming out of their hands, and they're all happy to be a tree. And so that's so Granddaughter Crow. So if you ever listen to my other podcast, Belief Being and Beyond, which I'm on most of the time. There's a sometimes she'll interview someone without me because my mom life gets in the way, but for the most part, we've been putting out um just her and I chats on Wednesday where we answer questions. And so if you have questions, please send them to us. You can either comment on the YouTube videos or we have an email that we share, um, beliefbeingbeyond at gmail.com, or you, if you're in our coven, you can just put the questions in there. And so we've been answering questions, and she takes the perspective of a shaman. Now, of course, she's more than that. Like she's a shaman, she's a medicine woman, she's also a witch, she's a teacher, she's a leader, she's a PhD. You know what I mean? Like she's got a lot going on, but she always comes back to nature, and she will say time and time again that you are nature, that it's so important for us to remember when we go outside and we look at the trees and we touch the earth and we look at the birds, they're all looking back, they're all feeling us back. Like we are part of our environment. And so, really, what I feel like coming through with the Virgo energy and the star and the we are one card is that it's really a good week to focus on your environment. Focus on getting outside if you can, doing a little like walk or stroll on your lunch breaks, you know, building it in where you can. If your kids are like my I'm in like Saturday jail till soccer season's over, you know, taking a walk during their little halftime and touching a tree or whatever, right? Getting off the grass for a moment to look at the sky, look at the clouds. Um, but yeah, it's really about that. It's like nourishing our we nourish ourselves through nourishing our space. You know, that's the thing with cleaning that if you're not into cleaning, right? Like I really do love a deep clean. I just really enjoy it. Um, and I love to listen to music in Spanish. Like specifically, I love Shakira, but really like I just love like upbeat Spanish music because it's so danceable and it makes the cleaning fun. Or I listen to podcasts. Um, that's when I will I'll clean every Friday. I clean every day. Hello, I'm a mom. Um, but Friday is when I do like deeper cleanings in the morning, and I've done that my whole life. I don't know if it's because I'm a Venus girl, like I'm a Taurus, but Venus Day, Friday, I'm always like, today's the day I want things to look beautiful. Like I want everything clean, I want to light a candle, I want to rinse things off. I just want to like look at my space and go, yes, it's beautiful. Um, and it's really just little things. So you don't have to spend money to make your place nourishing or beautiful, right? Like simple things, like something really easy to cleanse your space, right? That you can get at the grocery store. Get a couple lemons, cut them into wedges, and pop them into corners. Leave them for a day or two, and then throw them away. They will freshen the space, but they also collect negative energy, and that's why you put them in corners. I had a teacher who used to say that the devil hides in the corner. And so that's where energy gets stuck. If you follow anything about feng shui or qi, energy gets stuck in corners, and so it's really good to kind of get rid of that stagnant energy by cleansing your corners. And so you can use that. Another cheap and easy thing you can get at the grocery store is rosemary. I like rosemary, especially fresh rosemary, um hung over doorways, put under beds if people are having trouble sleeping. Again, like leaving it until it's no longer fresh and then tossing it. I like to toss things um like away from the house. So I'll wait till trash day and put them in the trash can. Because you're not supposed to compost or keep those things because they have negative energy. Um, I'll put them in the trash can like that morning, so they're taken away immediately. So that's a great way to do it because people are like, what do you mean like toss away from your property? Isn't that littering? No, because it just goes to the dump. So that's how I look at it. Um, but if you have one of those green bins, that's giving that's great too. Like people, some people have the ability to have a green bin or a scrap bin, so it can go in there as well. Um, in our coven this week, we have Deborah Blake. Oh my gosh. I don't do sound effects, but that needs like clapping or something. Um, we have some really good questions for her. I don't know if we'll get to all of them because people got really excited and asked quite a few. Um, she is, if you don't know her, you should. Uh she's on Instagram as herself, but also as the cranky crone. She has written a ton of books on everyday witch. Um, she has everyday witch tarot and oracle, everyday witch, you know, year in a day, where you can spend every day reading a little snippet from her. She wrote a book on deities most recently. Um, her style is so approachable. She's a really good writer in that she is approachable for all of us. I appreciate when writers are like that because yeah, I'm an English major. I'm a I'm a literature major. I graduate with high honors, I won a writing distinction award. Sure, I could do that. I could write in these academic voice and then leave out people who don't want to like get a dictionary or don't want to like do that, right? So I try to write in a way that's accessible to everybody, and I really appreciate that she follows that same philosophy. So she'll be in our coven. So if you haven't joined our coven, now's your chance, right? It's super fun in there, um, very rewarding, and she's in there with us, so that's exciting. Uh, two other things coming up that I, or three things coming up that I don't want to forget. On 921 on September 21st, if you don't already follow me on Instagram, you want to. I'm at RCoven Community, and I'm doing a uh an uh audiobook giveaway. So it'll be for anybody, if even if you read the book, you might like the audiobook. Sometimes I get something different out of listening. So I'll be doing an audiobook giveaway. It's really simple. It's like you have to follow me, you have to like that, and you have to tag a friend. So I hope a lot of people um give it a try, and then I'll be picking a winner. And then I will be on the Missing Witches podcast for their special, uh, their Maybon Autumn Equinox special. So I don't know what date that is yet. One I know I will tell everybody, um, but we're recording that soon. And then on September 22nd, I will be on Insight Timer Live for a meditation and tarot combination. And uh we will be focusing on the Equinox. So that's at 1 p.m. Pacific time, Insight Timer. Insight timer is free. So you can get the Insight Timer app. I'm not sure if it streams on the on a website, so you'll need the app, but it's a free app, and the class is also free. So it'll be about 45 minutes. What I'm
You Are Nature And Space Nourishment
SPEAKER_00gonna do in that class, and I'm hoping to do this more than once. I'm hoping this can become a series, depending on how it's received and how it goes. I've not used their live interface before, so this is all new to me. I've been a teacher on there for many years now. I have a course and a bunch of um meditations on there, but and talks, but it's my first time doing a live. So what we're gonna do is I'm gonna take you through a meditation for balance and harmony, because it's the equinox. And then we're gonna do a tarot spread. And if you don't have your own cards, I'm gonna do like a collective for who's there. And then if there's time, we're gonna journal. So that's I think a really nice way to spend the equinox, and you get to spend it with me. So look for that. It's on Insight Timer, it's on my link tree. So if you follow me in social media, um if you click on like the link on there, it'll bring you to the sign-up for it. So I just put it out there and I already had four people sign up. So I was excited. I was like, okay, exciting. Four is a great number. So that's what's going on there. I wanted to talk a little bit about practical magic today. Um, I didn't get to be on movie coven. I think they did practical magic. I think Jason said it's the third time that they did practical magic, and they were originally supposed to do it for Patty's birthday, but because the second movie um came out this weekend, right? So this is even though I'm recording this before then, I think well actually it's out today. Yeah, it's out today that I'm recording. Um, but because I didn't get to be on there, I was um with my family at Weird Owl. Went and saw Weird Owl, which puts he puts on a great show. He did a ton of costume changes, so funny, and such a great thing to take like a tween to. My son's 11. He had a bunch of friends there, and my daughter had a bunch of friends there. It was just a really good time. Um, I did not sleep after, I was really overstimulated, and I'm in Perry Menopause, so that was rough yesterday. But anyway, today I feel good. So let's talk a little bit about practical magic too. I am not gonna give away any spoilers. I am seeing it Saturday. Um, it's really cute. We are doing this. There's a new shop in town called the Crystal Nook, and she rented out our local theater and is doing a special night. She's encouraging people to dress up, and there's a prize for the best costume, and there's little goodie bags. And so I'm taking my daughter. It's really an excuse to dress up, and um we're gonna go see it. And she's seen the movie, she's not like a huge fan like me, but I'm gonna make that happen. You know, it's gonna happen eventually. And then today I found out I won tickets to go see it. So I already I entered this contest through Fandango uh to win tickets, and then I was like, well, I'll go ahead and do this other thing in town. And then today I got the email saying I won four tickets. So I think I'm gonna see it twice. I think I'm gonna take my daughter on this weekend and then see it with the whole whole family. I'll make the boys uh watch the first movie. My husband's seen it, but not my son, and then we'll go see the second one. So I just think that's really fun. So yeah, no spoilers. Full disclosure, I've read all the books. Alice Hoffman is for me a good writer, but hit or miss. Some of her books can be kind of dark. Um, there was one I read where the man was like super abusive. It was a very complicated story. Um, and then sometimes they're a little uh sad. They're a little sad, and then sometimes they're a little uh slow for me, but then other times I'm like, I love it. So if I see like an Alice Hoffman um book for free, like in a giveaway, I'll grab it and I'll read it. And she wrote a kid's uh not a kid's like a young adult book about a boy that had wings. I can't remember the name, but that's a great book too. I that's how I got my daughter into Alice Hoffman a little bit. So there are four books. Um there's two ways to read them, like if you've never read the books, you can read them in the order they came out, which I don't think you should do that. Um, I think you should read them in chronological order. So it's kind of like I'm a Marvel fan, so you can watch all the Marvel movies in the MCU learner universe um in chronological order, which is a different way to watch it. So let's talk about the books real quick in chronological order. So if you when that's the way I think you should do it. So Magic Lessons is the one that came out in 2020, but I think it should be the first one you read. And it's set in the 1600s, and if it's about Maria Owens. So if you've seen the first movie, she's their ancestor. This is my favorite book in the series. There's four of them. This book is Alice Hoffman's into history, and so you got like a lot of, it's like a historical fiction with magic, kind of like if you liked a discovery of witches, it's very similar, that kind of vibe. Um, Maria is a really interesting story because she immigrates to America, and it's very complex, and I think it's my favorite one. It has the most magic. The other books don't have that much magic, believe it or not. So it has the most magic, and I don't know, I really enjoyed it. The second one, The Rules of Magic, is my second favorite, and this is about Franny and Jet. So if you watch the movies, um, Aunt Franny, Aunt Frances is Stalker Channing, which we all know from um Greece, right? She's Rizzo. And then Aunt Jet is the other actress, I can't remember her name, but she's also the mom in the Lost Boys. And it's funny because they should have casted them opposite, because Aunt Jet has black hair, hence the name. Because in their family, there's always like a woman with black hair and a redhead, and then Aunt Francis is the redhead. And then they also have a brother named Vincent, and I'm not going to give that away, but um that story's good. It's like New York City, 1970s, uh it's kind of coming of age, them navigating their lives and their relationships with other people, but also relationships with one another and dealing with the curse. It's really, really good. And then the next book is Practical Magic, which I read after the movie, and I actually don't like it as much. I think the movie is better because the movie has more magic. The movie has um a lot of differences. I don't want to do spoilers or give it away, but um I really don't like the officer hallet in the book. And also in the book, uh, Jillian has a boyfriend, which I did like. Um and the girls are Sally doesn't come live with the ants. Like that doesn't happen really. It's like the ants are in the book, but not like they are in the movie. I don't know. It's just, and then with the movie, there's the whole soundtrack and the house and
Simple Home Cleanses With Lemons
SPEAKER_00the look, the clothes. Like I watch, I just watched it recently. I watch it all the time. Um, so I think the I think the book is just okay. And it ends very differently. So here is not a spoiler, but people have asked, well, how come there's a second movie? Like, cause they bring The curse. They break the curse in the movie, you know, when Jillian and um Sally hold hands, and like you see Maria, it seems like the curse is broken, but that does not happen in the book. So I'm gonna see, I haven't seen the movie yet. I'm gonna assume they're gonna explain it's you know that they didn't actually break the curse. And then the last book, the book of magic, is um the girls are older and dating, and then um Sally and Jillian are still navigating things, they go back to where Maria is from. There's this whole kind of like investigative detective type little situation, and then things go on from there. I don't want to give anything away. So I'm super excited for the movie, and I think we should all see it. Let me tell you why. If you can afford it, if you have the time. I'm gonna get on my little um soapbox. So this the first movie came out in 1998. It is a women-heavy cast with older women, right? The ants. It is funny, it is emotional, it's sad, there's a little element of horror. It's a lot. It's a lot going on, and it's complex, and it's female dominant, which means this movie was not received well. It really flopped, according to a lot of people. Um, there have been some recent interviews, which you should watch with Stander Book and Um Nicole Kidman talking about how this movie was not received well, that they would be at these press junkets and it was traumatic because people would be like, this is too much, there's too many tones, there's too many women. People were so negative towards them and the movie. And they were both really devastated with the fact that it did not do as well as they hoped because they really loved it and they loved the story. Um, and then we, you know, us people that love practical magic, that I mean, I have it on DVD and we watch it every year and we listen to the soundtrack and we use the the songs and the references and our social media stuff. We encouraged them to make the second one, right? Like that's amazing to me. They realized that we they it found an audience and that it became a beloved favorite.
Rosemary Protection And Clearing Corners
SPEAKER_00And so they decided to make a second one, which is so exciting to me. And so I really want people to see it because I want, you know, we vote with our money. I always say that we vote with our money, with food, with everything. And so it's like going to spend your money and time on this movie about women, really for women, it's for everybody, but you know, very much for women, is saying something. I think it's like a little form of protest. I know it sounds, you know, maybe go, that's too far, but you know, it's just there's so many movies about men, for men, through men's lens, men's perspective. When we get a movie that's really for women, written by, you know, the books written by women, Sandra Bullock produced the movie. Um, I heard Olivia Rodriguez doing a song. I haven't I haven't watched like too in depth on trailers or like anything because I really want to be surprised. Um it's for witches, it's for women. And both Nicole Kidman in an interview recently talked about how she freezes people in her freezer, she has names in there. And uh I saw Sandra Bullock in an interview with Amy Polar, and she said Amy Polar's like, I just feel like as we age we just become become more witchy. And Sandra Bullock's like, yeah, we do. It's like, and then um some of the younger cast members read tarot. I mean, that's like it's our time to shine. Like we have this movie, and then we have Hexed coming out from Disney. It's like so exciting. I know Heather Green talks about on the movie Coven how these kind of supernatural themes circle back. So you have like a Twilight vampire, you know, time. You Walking Dead, we had like a lot of zombie stuff come out. I think we're coming back to a witch era. And in fact, talking to an editor at Wiser, she said the same thing that she feels like it's cycling back and this is gonna be a more witchy era, which we need, right? It's healing, it's healing for women, it's healing for men, it's healing the witch wound, it's healing for all of us. So I'm not saying that practical magic's the answer or that it's gonna heal us, but you know, if you're like, should I watch it? Treat yourself. Like if you love the first movie, I think we should all treat ourselves. And the other thing I want to address too is that people talk about like, oh, they they have so much botox, they're calling it practical Botox and all stuff. Who are we to judge? Like, I don't know what it's like to be a celebrity, and I certainly don't know what it's like to be an aging woman celebrity. I know what it's like to be an aging woman, and I know how hard that is in this society, and I just refuse to tear other people down. Like, you do you. You want to do Botox or you can afford Botox and you want to do it, and you that makes you feel good you want to do facelifts. Whatever. Why do I care? Right? That's not even in my tax bracket.
Coven Guest Deborah Blake Preview
SPEAKER_00That's not something I'd consider. Maybe if I could afford it, I might consider it. I don't know. It doesn't even come into my orbit. And so I'm just aging naturally. And there's nothing wrong with whatever choice you make, right? Um, women don't need to tear each other down. I feel like we should be past that already, but we're not. So, you know, I heard people say that, like Botox, whatever. Who cares what they do? I don't we don't know the pressure they're under, right? Whatever. Um, I'm still gonna see it. And apparently I'm gonna see it twice. Um, so yeah, I think, you know, for me, the first movie, um it's just it's so nostalgic. So I did not see it in theater. Again, it flopped, right? But also, it came out in 1998, I was about 16, and at that time I was really into the punk and hardcore scene in New York City, and I all my money went to shows, so I was in like different clubs or whatever. So, in the whole time I was doing that, I only went and saw like the X-Files movie. Like that was it, because it was like such a big deal. I loved that show, but I wasn't gonna spend my money on a movie, and then you know, years later, I think senior year, my friend had it on VHS, and she's like, You gotta watch this movie, and I was like, sure, like I already liked the craft, and it was so good. I was like blown away, and immediately like I was like, I'm Sally, and she's like, I know I'm Jillian. Like we were totally like felt seen, right? I was always like, I have dark hair, she had blonde hair, um, like reddish blonde hair too, and she was kind of wild, and she like had a lot of boyfriends, and she um was always trying to get me to loosen up, and I was very much like you know, dark hair, quiet, like wasn't dating really. Uh, the eldest daughter, um, you know, just kind of like very serious, like really wanted to get married and have two kids, like, and she did not want to do that. And so it was so funny to watch that movie and be like, I feel seen as Sally. And now I watch the movie, and I still like identify with Sally, but I start I'm starting to identify with ants more and more, right? Like, you know, this just who they are, how they dress. I went and bought a pack of those like lace undershirts that they wear where it's like a little collar and they're like long sleeve. I was like, I'm in my Aunt Jet era, like totally, totally doing this. Um, also they all have such great hair. I'm sure there's like hair pieces and wigs in that movie. Um, but I love all the hair, like all the braids and like the long flowing hair. I love everybody loves the house, which you know wasn't real. Um, but it's real in our imaginations, can't buy it. I love all the little cats. I like will live, I would love to have that apothecary room that's like a sunroom. Ugh, amazing. And then the music, right? Like the whole soundtrack is good, like even just like the instrumental stuff, but like the Stevie Nicks songs, just so good, and like I can hear those songs immediately see the part in the film and just everything about it. Like, I love everything about it, and I think you know, it really um it speaks to just like witchiness and archetypes, and it really got me into reading romanticy, like that's really like an early romance. We didn't have that term as far as I know back when that came out, but that really it really is like a romantic. Like there's a romance element, there's a fantastical element, you know. I know it's got everything could ever want. Just I love and how I think about how far and few between those movies were in the 90s. You know, there were so many movies with just gratuitous, gratuitous nakedness of women and treating them more as objects and the camera angles being like men's eye like point of view and men's lenses and just the whole thing was kind of gross. It was kind of hard to grow. It was hard to grow, it's hard to grow up anytime. It's hard to grow up in the 90s and not feel objectified. In this movie, I mean Jillian's like very sexy, but like for herself, you know, it's like she just owns it, and you know, that's cool. I don't know. I just think it's really it's

SPEAKER_00in my it's in my like DNA at this point. I feel like it's like it's in my practice, it's like I really think about it, I reference it, you know, quote it. It's just like part of the witchy culture. And I'm sure there's people don't like it that are taking it like too seriously, but it's it's fun. And I think it's a really I remember feeling like the craft was not a good representation of witchcraft, you know, it was like the whole patriarchal fear of powerful teenage girls. Um, but the craft, it's like when Officer Hallett is like um basically questioning Sally about stuff, and she's like, Yeah, there's there's no like devil in the craft, and it's not about that. And the other lady in the shop backs her up and is like, no, it's not like that, like it's not human sacrifice or anything weird. It's like it really tried to show like what witchcraft to me is, like, especially in the 90s. Like, I really felt like seen. I was like, oh yeah, like this is how I view witchcraft, like as a as an earth-based thing, as a beautiful thing, as you know, using your talents to heal and to help, and sometimes doing an exorcism, you know, just sometimes you just need to do that. But um, yeah, I just think and I love like the generations, so it's a favorite movie of mine, and it's okay if it's not yours. I will be seeing it, like I said, twice, and I think it's really fun. Um, so yeah, this week I would say we continue on our cleaning and cleansing path, we continue to revisit boundaries, we continue to figure out how to nourish and nurture ourselves through our environment. So let's really let me ask you that. That'll be our journal question. How can you nourish and nurture yourself through your environment? Think big picture. Think about your home, think about being outside, think about your car or however you travel to work, think about your office space. Like, what are little things you can do this week to make your spaces more you, more nurturing, and therefore elevate your happiness because you deserve it, right? So I'm leaving you with that. Okay. Bless it be.
